Welcome to our little piece of cyberspace. I’m Elizabeth I’m a LCHF (low carb high fat) eating, bargain hunter (I can’t pass up a great deal), research nut, coffee addict, animal lover, with a serious sweet tooth & a bad tech habit, I laugh too loud, talk too much and make friends wherever I go.
I have the travel bug and can’t wait for my next adventure. I love nothing more than seeing a new place, meeting the people, poking around new stores and trying the food. Any adventure will do.. a small local town or a country on the other side of the planet.
I’m married to my sweetheart Paul. We’ve been together for more than seven years. We met for the first time at a Starbucks and I was really nervous. As most everyone will tell you, I’m never at a loss for words, but for some reason words escaped me that day. Our short little coffee date lasted for four hours yet it seemed to be over in a blink. We’ve been together ever since. Paul is nerdy, goofy, funny and always makes me laugh. He is really smart and the most honest guy you’ll ever meet. He takes good care of us and I love to spend time with him no matter what we’re doing. Even after seven years, we still hold hands and he still makes me blush.
Paul has been in the military for twenty years and for the last 8 years his civilian job has been with a large tech company here in the northwest. Paul is a tech guy and a gamer, I learned to play World of Warcraft for him and I’d say the learning curve was pretty darn steep. Seriously the only video games I had any experience with were a few games in the arcade when I was growing up, Pac man anyone? Tempest? Yeah. We’ve tried Guild Wars 2 (love it), LOTR (Just No), Star Wars (tedious and boring) and Half life (so NOT family friendly).
Both our boys also play so it’s something we all do together. I’m still not a fan of up close fighting, but at least I don’t scream anymore when I’m getting hit (Paul says that took a long time). If you had told me ten years ago that I would learn to play an MMORPG (let alone several) I would have said you were a dirty liar.
Between us we have three big kids Carl 25, Bethany 21 and Ethan 17, four dogs and two cats. We are both very passionate about our animals. Many things revolve around our dogs.
We have Snickers and Fushi the boys came first years before anyone else. Snickers has a one track mind, he likes treats and his ball, Fushi is a lover and a fighter. He thinks I belong to him (and I do), he is a world class snuggle bunny. Little Tinkerbelle came next and had been terribly abused before we took her. The original plan was to rehabilitate her, get her fixed and groomed and re-home her, but before we even backed out of the parking lot after picking her up, I knew she wasn’t going anywhere. The best laid plans right? I really became her support person. I think Tinkerbelle is just perfect! In spite of the abuse she suffered she is the sweetest most loving little dog. She is always giving kisses and is always happy. Last year Paul fell in love with a Lhasa Apso on the east coast at the end of his deployment and we drove home with her when Ginger was only 5 months old.
Carl is 25, he lives at home and is taking psychology in college and hopes to work with children in a school setting. Carl is an avid gamer, loves anime, manga, he plays D&D once a week at a local game shop, listens to a variety of podcasts including the Titus Podcast. Carl is a big teddy bear and always stands up for the little guy. He is ridiculously excited for the new littles to arrive.
Bethany is 21 is a student at a university here in the area and is working towards being a doctor. She loves to travel and is passionate about service projects. She was awarded the City of Destiny by the Tacoma City Council and went on to win a 4 year full ride scholarship. She recently married her sweetheart Reggis in Ecuador.
Ethan is 17 and lives in Spokane with his mother and step father. Ethan is very musically talented and plays a number of instruments as well as being technically inclined like his father. Ethan is also a gamer and enjoys both online games as well as D&D. Ethan has a great sense of humor and never fails to make us all laugh.
This blog is about our lives, our adventures and totally random thoughts. Follow along as we work toward completing an international adoption (or two).
